Scholarship Overview

The Brazos Education Foundation is a non-profit, community foundation dedicated to providing affordable access to higher education through resources, scholarships, and information.  Headquartered in Waco, Texas and located at 118 South 18th Street, the Foundation received its 501(c) 3 status in March 2009.

Our Philosophy is simple, “Education 4 Everyone."

We help students reach their educational goals by awarding renewable scholarships and ongoing mentoring support to qualifying graduating seniors attending a McLennan County Title I high school.

At present, we provide renewable scholarships to 48 Scholars and one-time scholarships to 24 students. We also have six alumni who have benefited from our scholarships.

Scholarship Key Components

  • Connections 4 Success Mentors:

We match each Scholar with a caring and committed mentor who provides friendship and advice throughout their college experience.

  • Emergency Funds 4 You:

The Foundation has funds set aside for our Scholars to provide them with financial assistance in case of an emergency that might prevent them from pursuing their education.

  • Highest GPA Award:

We award a $500 scholarship to the Scholars with the highest GPA at the end of the fall semester.

  • Renewable Scholarships:

Scholars receive $2,500 in scholarship funds for every year they are enrolled in college and maintain a satisfactory GPA to help pay for tuition, textbooks and supplies.

  • Success 4 College Workshops:

The Foundation conducts workshops for Scholars to provide information and “tips” to prepare for the next phase of their college experience.
